Dr Hom Nath Dhungana is a Lecturer in Information Systems and Information and Communications Technology at Southern Cross Institute (SCI) with teaching and research expertise in data science, machine learning, and applied mathematical modelling.

He completed his PhD in Data Science at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, where he was actively involved in teaching and research. Following his PhD studies, he worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist on WHO-supported research with the Population Council, contributing to data-driven research.

Dr Dhungana has held academic and research appointments at the University of Technology Sydney, Charles Sturt University, and Integral University. His research interests include data science, applied mathematical and statistical modelling, machine learning, health, and innovative teaching pedagogies.

He is a member of several professional and scholarly organisations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Australian Mathematical Society, the Asia-Pacific Educational Research Association (APERA), the Statistical Society of Australia (SSA), and the International Machine Learning Society (IMLS).
