Ms Kahandage Hasini Perera is a Lecturer in Accounting at Southern Cross Institute (SCI), Australia. She has an academic background in accounting and business, with teaching and research interests spanning accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate governance, management, organisational behaviour, and human resource management. She is committed to creating supportive and engaging learning environments that encourage students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
She has more than eight years of experience in higher education and has taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in accounting and related business disciplines internationally. Her professional background includes experience with Big Four audit firms, regulatory authorities, and professional accounting bodies, providing her with practical perspectives that complement her academic work.
Ms Perera is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia) and a Chartered Accountant and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA). She holds a Bachelor of Science (Special) in Accountancy with First Class Honours and an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Accounting, with her research focusing on governance and voluntary tax compliance. She has published research papers in Scopus-indexed and peer-reviewed journals, presented her research at international conferences, and contributed to the academic community through the peer review of journal articles and conference submissions.
