Dr Radhika Kuttala

Dr Radhika Kuttala is a Lecturer in Information Systems and Information and Communications Technology at Southern Cross Institute (SCI). She is a Member of the Australian Computer Society (MACS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). She holds a PhD in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, a Master of Technology in Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology. Her doctoral research focused on multimodal deep learning for stress detection using physiological signals and the development of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) for healthcare applications.

Her research interests include artificial intelligence (AI), explainable AI, affective computing, data analytics, human-computer interaction, and AI applications in healthcare and education. She has published in leading peer-reviewed journals and presented her research at IEEE conferences. She also serves as a reviewer for several high-impact journals, including IEEE Access, IEEE MultiMedia, IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing, and Computers in Human Behaviour Reports.

At SCI, Dr Kuttala teaches units across undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She is committed to delivering engaging and industry-informed learning experiences that combine strong theoretical foundations with practical applications, equipping students with the technical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills required in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Dr Kuttala actively collaborates on research in trustworthy and explainable artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on AI applications in healthcare and education. Through her teaching, research, and professional service, she is committed to advancing innovative technologies that address real-world challenges and contribute to the broader computing community.
