Dr Miftah Zikri is the Academic Director in Accounting within the Bachelor of Business course with Accounting major at Southern Cross Institute (SCI). He has taught across accounting, finance, auditing, and business management units at multiple institutions. Beyond academia, he has founded and led technology ventures, including a digital modelling platform. His technical skills encompass bankruptcy modelling, data analytics, statistical analysis, and AI-assisted workflow automation, bridging rigorous academic scholarship with practical industry and entrepreneurial applications.
Dr Zikri is a strategic academic leader, lecturer, and finance researcher with over 14 years of international experience spanning higher education, accounting, and finance. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Southern Queensland, where his doctoral research on bankruptcy modelling and firm emergence was awarded the highest possible result and passed without revision.
Dr Zikri’s research interests centre on corporate bankruptcy, financial distress resolution, and firm emergence from Chapter 11 proceedings. His expertise spans bankruptcy modelling, quantitative analysis, and the investigation of how organisational capital, managerial ability, and firm-level political risk shape recovery outcomes. His work has been published in ABDC A-ranked journals, including the Journal of Financial Research and the International Review of Financial Analysis, with the former recognised as having one of Wiley’s top-viewed articles in 2025.
