Deferment, Suspension or Cancellation Form

For your application of Deferment, Suspension or Cancellation to be considered, you must:

1. Complete all fields of this form
2. Supply supporting documentary evidence
3. Submit these documents to Student Support Officer in person at SCI Campus - Level 2, 1-3 Fitzwilliam Street, PARRAMATTA NSW 2150 Australia
4. Additional information to assist you in completing this form can be found at the end of this form.

Students may request for a Deferment, Suspension or Cancellation at the beginning of the course or prior to the census date of a semester under compelling or compassionate circumstances.

Compassionate or compelling circumstances include (but not limited to):

• serious illness or injury affecting a student’s ability to study
• witnessing or being the victim of a serious crime
• bereavement of close family members, such as parents or grandparents
• natural disaster in a student’s home country
• traumatic event in Student’s personal life
• the Institute was unable to offer a pre-requisite unit
• delay in receiving a student visa.

The Institute will process applications for refund of tuition fees in accordance with the Institute’s Refund Policy that is in line with government legislation if the student defers or withdraws from a course prior to the census date.

If SCI or TEQSA discontinues a course, refunds will be granted to international students in accordance with the provisions of the ESOS Act 2000 and the 2001 ESOS Regulations.
