DESCRIPTION:Southern Cross Institute (SCI) is proud to celebrate the successful participation of Assoc Prof Anju Kalluvelil Janardhanan\, Deputy Dean\, at the HERDSA 2026 Annual Conference\, held at the National University of Singapore. \nAssoc Prof Janardhanan facilitated a highly engaging roundtable titled “Staff Capability in the GenAI Era: What Do Academics Actually Need to Learn?”\, bringing together higher education professionals from across the world to explore one of the most pressing questions facing the sector as generative artificial intelligence continues to reshape teaching\, learning\, and assessment. \nDesigned and led by Assoc Prof Janardhanan\, the interactive roundtable encouraged participants to reflect on three key questions: \n\nWhat do academics need to LEARN?\nWhat do academics need to UNLEARN?\nWhat do academics need to BECOME?\n\nThe session attracted enthusiastic participation from academics\, educational leaders and learning and teaching professionals representing institutions across the higher education sector. \nThe ideas shared during the roundtable will inform SCI’s ongoing professional development initiatives for academic staff\, reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to strengthening learning\, teaching and assessment practices in the GenAI era. \nAssoc Prof Janardhanan’s successful facilitation of this conference session reflects both her leadership in learning and teaching and SCI’s commitment to contributing to national and international conversations on educational innovation. Her work continues to position SCI as an institution that actively shares knowledge\, embraces emerging technologies\, and supports educators in responding confidently to the changing landscape of higher education. \nSCI congratulates Assoc Prof Anju Kalluvelil Janardhanan on this significant achievement.
